Hi I'm Michael Bess

I'm a Mormon. Computer loving, anything techie guy with an eternal wife, 5 kids, 14 grand kids. I fix things.

About Me

I like to write stories of things around my life. People, animals, stars and gardens. I am a fixer of things. Be it toys, fences, computers or tangled necklaces, I will figure it out. I love weather but am most particular to summer, spring, fall and winter - in that order. Heat and humidity are my friends. I love animals and creatures of all kinds. Dogs and cats are my favorites. I like people and like getting to know them. I am the youngest of 6 kids. My parents have all passed on as well as a sister and my daughter. God only knows how to bring a person through that and He did. I will share all I have learned thus far in my life with any who ask if I feel it will help them.

Why I am a Mormon

I fully believe in Jesus Christ. That He came to earth to perform the atonement and resurrection. Living a life of perfect example showing that God is his and our Father and that loving others is what living here is meant to teach us. It is what he did. When I read the stories (scriptures) of his life I see the lessons not about others but about me. I feel his spirit when I read. I feel his spirit when I do freely for others any good thing I can. I feel his spirit when I sing of Gods great works. I feel his spirit deep down inside of me where nothing else but his spirit can reach; my very soul. Feeling that spirit gives me such a joy and peace that I cannot find otherwise. I know I am His. Jesus the Christ is my savior and my brother. I follow him. I am not perfect at all. But I look to and follow as best I can the one that is perfect and that loves me perfect; Jesus my brother and savior. How did I find out about him? How did I come to know this? I was told there was a god and I could pray. I did. I felt inside the moving, touching of my spirit. I read the book of Mormon. I asked more. I felt and learned more. God does answer prayers. Try it.

How I live my faith

I see people. I see them as friends. I listen to their words, I listen for their feelings beyond the words. I know they came from the same place as me. We all came from Heaven and we will return. I know this life is about me learning what I am really like when I am "on my own" as it were. For no one sees through my eyes or hears through my ears or thinks my thoughts or understands with my heart. Neither do I through any of theirs. I am fully free to choose who and what I am. God gives me the guidance I ask for and seek but He never forces me neither can Satan. As I said, I am free to choose what I am and will be. Consequences of course are set by my choices. When I choose aright, I find I am blessed. When I choose poorly I am for sure the poorer for it. If I cheat, I am cheated. If I bless, I am blessed. How simple is that! That freedom and the understanding thereof comes to me and grows in me as I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. In the end, no matter how well I have learned or done, it will still be by the grace of Jesus that I will return. He is my teacher and expects everything of me I am able to do. He knows me as I am now, he knows me as I was before this life. He knows what I can be after this life. Knowing all that, he still leaves it up to me. He makes me free. He loves me. I love him. I love God our Father. That "Plan of Happiness" that we refer to the gospel as being, is properly named. So day to day, I look for and find reasons to smile and appreciate all I see, feel and meet. I express thankfulness to God throughout the day and night as I realize the good life He has and still is letting me experience. I pet the dogs, I caress the cats, I play with the children, I help wherever I can. I stop, visit, listen, share, thank, teach, learn, and carry on. This is my faith and my life.
