Why I am a Mormon

Mormons often *bear testimony.* This is basically a statement of belief/conviction. I grew up hearing people say "I know this church is true" as part of their testimony. When I was around 14 years-old, I came to the conclusion that all those testimonies were either a bunch of lies or the church *is* actually true. I decided to find out for myself. The scriptures counsel us, over and over, to ask God. That's what I did. I knelt by my bed and prayed sincerely to know if what I had been taught at church is true. My prayer was answered through a calm, assuring feeling that literally removed any doubts. For the first time, I truly knew for myself.

How I live my faith

I try to be the same person wherever I am: I want my kids to have the same dad in public that they have at home. I try to be generous and kind to all. I try to respect everyone's freedom-to-choose their own lifestyle, while I remain firm in my convictions and lifestyle. I try to share the gospel with anyone interested. The Gospel provides me with happiness, focus, and motivation so I figure it will do the same for my friends. I try to follow all the counsel of the Prophet and the scriptures. In short, I'm trying to be like Jesus.
