Hi I'm Tabitha

I grew up in Alaska. I love to work with children, write poetry, and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a small town girl from central Alaska. I enjoy working with children and spending time with my family. I would really love to be a mother someday. I play flute and violin and piano and I sing in church choir. I want to learn to play guitar and banjo. I enjoy sewing handbags and skirts. I like putting outfits together that are cute and keep me covered. I like taking pictures, especially of nature. I am blessed to experience the beautiful scenery of Alaska. I love taking pictures of the Northern Lights. I like to write poetry and write in my journal. I like to read historical fiction, especially about WWII.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Heavenly Father knows me personally and loves me, as he does with all of His children. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for my life, and that He has given me many guides for my life: the scriptures, church leaders, good family, and good friends. I know that our scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price) are the word of God, and they help me as I study them daily. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the gospel of Christ. I know that our prophet today, President Monson, is also called of God to reveal His will. I know that Christ loves us and was willing to die so that we might repent and change our lives. I know that Christ is the light of the world. Christ is my example; I want to be more like Him. I know that families can be together forever through the priesthood ordinances in the temple, as well as by obedience to the commandments of God. This gospel gives me a framework for my life; it motivates me to be a better person.

How I live my faith

For my church callings, I strive to have Christlike love for each child I work with. I work with preschool-age children, which often requires patience : ) When I look at each child as Christ sees him or her, I am better able to see his or her potential and love that child. At home, I try to do random acts of kindness for my family members. We also have family scripture study and prayer. I served a mission in Las Vegas and I loved the people I had the opportunity to meet! I am continually trying to improve myself and to prepare for the future responsibilities my husband and I will have.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I have learned about the truth of the gospel by studying the scriptures and then praying about the truth of the things which I have learned. I received an answer by feeling a sense of peace and happiness. Show more Show less
