Hi I'm Greg McCall

I grew up in southern California, went to college Utah, Massachusetts and New York and have lived in Seattle for the last 25 years

About Me

I'm a father of five and grandfather of two, living outside of Seattle, Washington. I have been married to the love of my life for thirty years. We love music, sports and learning. I am an attorney for a Seattle-based law firm where I am in charge of the immigration law practice. I keep current with world affairs. I try to read the Economist each week and spend time on various news websites every day. I served as a missionary for the Church in Denmark thirty years ago and work hard at keeping my danish language fluent as well as keeping up with news in Denmark. We are just this year empty nesters and love to skype with the grandkids. I try to hit the exercise bike every morning before work. I enjoy reading while on the bike or on the bus to work and am currently working through some Louis L'amour as well as James Fallows reports from China. I play the trumpet and enjoy jamming with friends, including my kids (piano and guitar). We enjoy going to Mariners games as well as to the symphony and opera. I like to keep up on politics and local issues. I served as a scout master for several years and enjoy hiking and camping in the warm months and skiing (both downhill and cross country) in the winter.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church and have always believed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel provides me with comfort in times of trial and hope for the future. I have had countless experiences that have confirmed to me that God lives and that Jesus is my personal savior. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought much joy to my family. As I have held our children and grandchildren in my arms I have felt a part of the love I know that God has for me. As I have read the Book of Mormon, I have felt the Holy Spirit confirm to my hear the truthfulness of its message and the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve my Church. I have taught Sunday School classes, taught teenagers in before school seminary class, overseen the young mens organization in my congregation, served as Bishop of a congregation and now serve as a Counselor to the Stake President, who directs and oversees several congregations in our area. In addition to these responsibilties in the Church, I try on a personal basis to live the gospel of Jesus Christ in my personal life and try to be a disciple of Christ. I take personal devotion seriously and try to study the word and put it into effect in my personal life by being a good neighbor, citizen and person.
