Hi I'm Robbie

I was adopted at birth... I rose above obscurity.. I now have a family of my own... Life's a great place! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am an Insurance Agent, father of two wonderful daughters and husband to a wonderful wife. I love spending time with my girls, riding my Harley Davidson and being actively engaged in the community where I live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to Mormonism. As a child, I occasionally attended church with lots of different friends some of different faiths. This included my next door neighbors, who were Mormon. As I visited other faiths, I did not feel the feelings I experienced attending the LDS Church. As I grew a little older, I joined the Boy Scout Troop at that church and consequently, attended more. As I grew and learned the simple truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ including but not limited to Eternal Families, the Priesthood, and hope I found what fit me directly. It became apparent that this was the correct choice for me and I'm so glad I did. I feel that Heavenly Father has blessed me much more than I could ever hope to be worthy for partly because I chose to follow His son, Jesus Christ. It is not easy and I fail constantly; but I continue to strive daily to be the person He expects of me. I have a testimony that this Gospel is ordained of God and as I continue to strive to be better; I can help others by my example. I am so grateful for the examples that have been set for me and it give me goals I can set to be a better man.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to be involved in several callings in the church over the years. I feel that I have received the most personal satisfaction by working with the Youth of the Church. The Young Men's Program combined with the Boy Scouts of America best prepares boys to become men in my opinion. They not only teach the virtues of trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, friendliness, courteousness, kindness, obedience, cheerfulness, thriftiness, bravery, cleanliness, and reverence; it puts them into action and encourages a life of service. "When you are in the service of your fellow man, you are in the service of your God.:

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

This is one of my favorite truths of the Gospel... We believe that couples/families can be together forever by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. This truth gives me an eternal perspective on my relationship with my wife, my children, and all others I come in contact with. It helps gauge the way I carry myself because I want to be worthy of this great blessing. I cannot imagine experiencing forever without them by my side. I believe God has ordained the family for eternal purposes and we should treat them as such. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Being from the South, I am asked often if The Book of Mormon is our Bible... The simple answer is NO. We use the King James verion of the Bible and revere it as scripture. An account and history written by the hand of the Lord's Prophets that lived before and in Christ's time. We believe the Book of Mormon to be another Testament of Jesus Christ which accompanies the Bible in delivering truths, stories and encouragement from the Lord's Prophets who lived in the ancient Americas. I am so grateful for the additional revelation and knowledge provided in the Book of Mormon. I have been unable to find any contradiction between the two scriptures which reinforces the reasoning for the accompanyment. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Unequivocally!! I define Christians as one who believes in, and follows Christ; the Only Begotten Son of God and Redeemer of ALL mankind.. Without question, Mormons are Christians. Even prior to my baptism, I was and am still unable to see how any person could not classify the Mormons along with the other fine Christian sects... We believe in, worship, and follow the words, actions and counsel of the Redeemer of all mankind, and are SO grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the entire world. Everyone who has lived... everyone who will ever live!! Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

We believe the husband and wife to be one undivided entity in the family unit. Not one holding reign over the other. Equal helpmates in the rearing of families and all matters related to marriage and family. We all joke about the wife being in charge and what we need to be doing... We believe that the sincere tender, nurturing heart of the woman fits together perfectly with the strong, patriarchal heart of man. Together, they make one perfect unit. In our family we both play all rolls. I clean in the kitchen with my wife and girls as they work with me in the yard. I councel with them in matters of the heart and my wife will discpline when needed. It is a great thing to have balance in the household. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

I am often asked or joked with about plural marriage... It is a common misconception we are engaged in the practice. Our doctrine is very plain in this regard.. We do not practice plural marriage. It is unlawful and no longer practiced in our faith. The violation of this law is grounds for immediate excommunication from our faith. Show more Show less
