Hi I'm Jarom

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying Computer Information Technology at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I love to be around my friends and having fun. I enjoy learning and developing new talents.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for a few different reasons. One is that my parents are. I was born into the church. I grew up in the church. That is very very minor in my reason for being a Mormon. The biggest reason is because I have received a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true. Growing up in the church I just did what I was told. I lived off of my parents' testimonies. When I was a teenager I started taking it more seriously. I read the Book of Mormon and then asked my Father in Heaven if it was true. Since then my tesitmony of Jesus Christ has become stronger and stronger. I know He lives.

How I live my faith

As a follower of Jesus Christ I try to follow His example each day. I attend a congregation with other married students and their children each Sunday. I read from the Bible and the other books of scripture used in the LDS Church. Each day I try to follow the example of my Savior. I try to serve other people. I try to show kindness to those around me.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jarom
The Bible is the Word of God. I love reading from the Bible and living the teachings that are in it. Inspired men of God originally wrote it. Sadly there have been men who have changed it so that it is not in it's perfect original form. The Bible is an inspired work of God. It tells of the ministry of Jesus Christ among the Jews and organizing His church upon the earth. Both the Old and New Testaments testify of the life and minisrty of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the Bible. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jarom
When I was 17, I had an experience that is very special to me. It was during the summer. I was on staff at a youth leadership training camp. It was taking place in a camp owned by the Boy Scouts of America in the mountains. In the process of setting up an event for the group of eight young men I was guiding through the course, I came upon the chapel there in the camp. It was in a more secluded area, set aside from the rest of the camp. It was a simple little set up. There were benches made of single boards of wood. There was a podium at the front. I walked into the chapel. Suddenly I was overcome with a feeling that I had never before felt. It was very strong. I heard the words, in my mind, "I am real." The feeling and words were unmistakable. There was no question as whether God was real to me. I knew it then and I still know it today. God is real. Show more Show less
