Hi I'm Collin Sharp

I grew up in Glendora, California. I am a missionary in the Florida Tampa Mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I like to longboard, swim, play video games, travel, and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have a firm testimony in the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and have had a personal witness of its truth. My conversion is nothing remarkable I have done what others have done. That is at a church youth activity where we had spent the entire day hearing inspirational speakers and reading scripture I knelt down beside my bed and asked Heavenly Father if this was true and if this is what I needed to do with my life. The answer I received was very personal to me but I felt so happy that I actually woke up my roommate to see how he felt. He replied with "tired" but that is certainly not how I felt. I immediately sent a text to my mother telling her simply that "I know that God exists." I have had other experiences in my life that have further changed me and who I am. Most of which were small but very important to me. One of the biggest to me was a trip to South Africa. While there we went to a shack that was selling souvenirs and had a little girl there that was the same age as my little sister. She was walking around to the customers trying to sell things to them. She was wearing very little clothing with no shoes but was still just a happy little girl. We put my sister down but she didn't want to get dirty so she didn't want down. To Calm her down we gave her a bag of dry cereal and my little sister started to share with the other little girl. I remember looking down and wondering why my little sister was so lucky to be born where she has everything she will ever need while this daughter of God had so little. I knew that God loved her as much as my sister. Everytime I see someone now that hasn't had the same quality of life that I have been able to enjoy I think of this moment and I know that God loves that person just as much as me and that I need to help them.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary teaching people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping them draw closer to Christ and their father in heaven. I would prefer to be doing nothing else with my time and I know that every family can become happier by drawing closer to Him. I am giving two years to serve him every hour of the day and to follow his commandments. I love it and I love Jesus Christ and I hope to be able to follow him for the rest of my life.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Collin Sharp
Family is so important to us because we know that the family is where we can be happy. We know that the family is not just for this life but for the life to come and that if we are sealed to them we will be with them for all of eternity. I love my family very much and I know that it is through God's love that I will be able to be with them forever. Show more Show less
