Hi I'm Madonna

I'm a Mormon. My mother joined the church when I was 7 years old. My whole world changed that day. I can never thank her enough.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I love swimming, reading and the beach. I love spending time with my family, they mean so much to me. I like to sing to my grandchildren, I love their innocence and enjoy so much watching them learn about the big, wide earth. Everything is new to them, and that helps me enjoy life so much, just being around them. I want to be with my family forever.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was seven years old, some sister missionaries taught my mother the gospel of Jesus Christ. I remember seeing the changes in her life as she accepted the gospel fully in her life. She had to give up some dear friends, struggle for years with my dad, who didn't support her for many years. I saw her struggle each week to have FHE with us, get us to church meetings, sometimes with a determination that amazed me, even at my young age. One time she told my dad, she would walk to church with us if she had to, he didn't argue about that anymore. I saw my dad mellow out with the years that followed. My testimony now has alot to do with my mother and the sweet angel on earth she is. I love the Savior with all my heart, I know this is his gospel. I know that a Lord speaks to us now through his prophets. I know the priesthood is restored on the earth. I am so grateful to a mother who taught me, knelt with me and prayed everyday with me. I love serving for Jesus Christ. He is my joy and salvation and I know that I can never repay Him for what He has done for me, but I will give my all to Him. I love Him with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

I enjoy visiting teaching. The sisters I visit are so sweet, some don't go to church anymore, but we learn from each other and enjoy each others company. I hope one day they will come back. I, also enjoy serving as compassionate service leader in our ward. I learn so much in this calling, and it helps me to be more aware of those in need. I love being able to help serve in some way. In my community I sometimes help serve on voting days, it is alot of fun and I enjoy seeing all the people come in and vote, I hope that in some way serving might help others as it help me.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

I have been able to do temple work for my ancestors and proxy baptism is so special to me. Many people didn't get to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ when living on the earth, and this is one way of sharing what is so precious to me, with them. They have the choice to accept or reject it, it is up to them. My hope is they do accept it. It is such a blessing in my life. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and Savior and only through him can I be saved. It is Jesus Christ I trust with all my heart. He suffered for our sins, sorrows and infirmities. He knows me better than anyone on this earth and he loves me and has provided a way home to my Heavenly Father through his sufferings in the Garden of Gethsamane. If I put my trust in him and live my life for him I can one day be with him forever. Show more Show less
