Hi I'm MamaStock

I'm a Mormon. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE being one!

About Me

I have moved quite a few times in my life and have learned to "go to" people rather than wait for them to come to me. I hate being in the limelight but I love helping others to be. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. I love to talk about spiritual matters and hear how other's feel. I like to find out "why". I love anything creative and I love sports. But, God comes first. Tears come easily as I constantly feel the love of my Father and my brother, Jesus Christ. They give me peace and hope every day in all I do. The gift of the Spirit is my best friend! Now, tell me about you!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where I attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a young woman I tried very hard to live a clean, honest lifestyle and i began to notice the comfort and guidance of the Holy Ghost. I wanted to know the Lord and as I sought him through attending church, studying scriptures and praying He has led me through experiences that have taught me He lives. He loves me. He loves ALL His children. His Son, Jesus Christ is real and also came to this earth to gain a physical body and show us the way back to Father. You know, honestly, I can't imagine my life without my savior. He has seen me through some very lonely, difficult times. I think my most favorite thing I have learned from the Savior is that we should always love. He or Father have never made me feel unwanted or stupid. I love that we are encouraged to learn and grow on our own in our testimonies and that we participate in our meetings. I love that we tie our beliefs all back to the Savior. I love that we can be families for eternity. I love that we have prophets on the earth, like since the beginning of the creation. Why would God leave us on our own?

How I live my faith

I have learned, through many opportunities to give service, to be a better person. We have moved a lot and I have learned that when you are in the service of your fellowmen you are in the service of your God. By following the example of my Savior I have found joy when my life could have been very lonely. I have had so many great experiences from volunteering as a scout leader for a troop of down syndrome girls, organizing a youth camp for 60 girls for a week or just being willing to teach a sunday school class for 10 year olds every week. The Lord has taught me patience, love, joy...really everything I know, through being willing to follow His teachings. I believe Him when He said, "wickedness never was happiness". If we follow His example in all we do we truly will be happy.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No one is forced to do anything, ever. But we are encouraged to share our beliefs, for sure! Why not, if something makes you happy, don't you want to share it with someone you care about? Young men ages 19-25 are asked to give 2 years of their lives to teach others the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ask anyone who has gone, it's a great experience. Young women are able to go at age 21. Couples that can support themselves are encouraged to go and serve in many capacities from teaching to farming to health missions. Show more Show less
