Why I am a Mormon
This is a very easy question to answer because I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt through the power of the Holy Ghost that this is the word of God and another testament of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have been a member all my life and in my early years I was always very active in the church. But when you get older you sometimes question things that you know are true. About 8 years ago my wife and I were sitting at the table for breakfast with my father in-law and he made a comment that there wasn't 5 families on our block that went to church every Sunday. My wife look at me and said you know we would be one of those families that doesn't go to church . So we made a commitent to us and our family, but more importantly to God we would start doing the things he expects us to do. And let me tell you there has been a change in our lives that has brought us so much happiness and joy knowing we will be a family that will be together forever.
How I live my faith
I live my faith everyday doing the little things that make a difference like regular prayer and family prayer, reading the scriptures and pondering what that scipture mean't to me. I have been told by many good people that "If you want to talk to God pray to him, and if you want God to talk to you read the scriptures". One of the things that are church has done in our community is a project call "Paint your Heart Out". Where we go to peoples homes mostly elderly people who can't afford to have their house painted and do it for free. The joy on thier faces after we are done lets you know that you are doing a great service just like Jesus would be doing if he was on the earth today. Making people happy while giving of your time and service will always bless your life, and will bless the lives of people around you.
