Hi I'm Brent

I'm a food scientist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a food scientist. I love food! I haven't been able to live without it since the day I was born.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I need answers. I need a prophet called by God. I need revelation about how to live my life. There is so much confusion in the world about life's most basic questions and science can't provide the answers. In response to my heartfelt pleadings I have felt the Holy Spirit instruct me and give answers to my questions. It's subtle promptings have brought peace to my heart and clarity to my confusion. I'm a Mormon because when I reflect on my past and the mistakes I've made, I understand that there are consequences. I have felt shame, fear, grief and pain in consequence for my mistakes. The blessing of my errors has been an increased understanding of the need for the Savior's Atonement. I have also felt the cleansing and healing power of the Savior's Atonement. I have felt it's power mend my broken heart, replace fear with faith and remove guilt. I'm a Mormon because I need peace and joy in my life. As I've lived the restored gospel I have felt confidence, peace and joy.

How I live my faith

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. I cannot think of a greater charge then this. I try in all my callings and all my dealings with people to keep this at the forefront of my mind. I want to do things for the right reasons.
