Hi I'm Sarah.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love living life and sharing it with the people I care about most.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a personal testimony that the Book of Mormon is an additional witness of Christ, and was written by prophets of God. I've read it and prayed about it. I know that God answers prayers when we "...ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ..." which "...he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." Moroni 10:5. I know that the same church Christ established while he was on the Earth was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. God loves us and he is still blessing us with the necessary priesthood power that allows us to receive His revelation through a prophet today: Thomas S. Monson. Jesus Christ is at the head of this church, and he is still leading and guiding all those that come unto Him. I am a Mormon because I have faith that God is a never-ending God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

How I live my faith

Behavior. Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behavior does. In living by faith, I've drawn closer to God, and I've seen the plan he has for me and my life unfold. "God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe." - Jeffrey R. Holland, Apostle of the Lord

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon missionaries proselyte because our church has a message that brings happiness. That message is centered around Jesus Christ and the atonement. Happiness is found in the gift of repentance. 2 Nephi 2: 8-10 "Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save‍ it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth‍ down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection‍ of the dead, being the first that should rise. Wherefore, he is the first fruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession‍ for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved. And because of the intercession for all, all men come unto God; wherefore, they stand in the presence of him, to be judged‍ of him according to the truth and holiness‍ which is in him.." Mosiah 2:41 "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy‍ state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed‍ in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful‍ to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness.." Missionaries go forth to serve and share this message with the world. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith is responsible, through the power of God, for restoring God’s true church on the Earth today. The Church we now call: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the early 1800’s, Joseph Smith lived in Palmyra, New York where at that time; the United States was going through an era of ‘religious excitement’. There were so many churches to choose from, but which was God’s true church? Joseph Smith recognized that there were many differences in the fundamentals and interpretations of the Bible that each church preached, and claimed to be of God. But where did they receive their direction? One night, while reading the Bible: James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not: and it shall be given him.” It struck Joseph that he could ask God, and receive an answer. The next day, he went into the woods behind his home and prayed, asking God which church was true. Upon praying, God the Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to him telling him to join none of the churches, because none of them were true. Through subsequent years, Joseph Smith received the priesthood along with direct counsel and instruction, through the Lord, on how to establish and raise up His church on the Earth. All of which were for the benefit and instruction of man. Joseph Smith became the first prophet of Christ’s restored church in this (our) dispensation. Joseph Smith’s act of prayer is an example to me that God the Father and his Son do exist, and they do answer our prayers. That Christ is the head of this church, and why should His church be any different now than it was in the time of Moses or Abraham or Isaac? Why should I not be able to partake of the same blessings received of the people living under the direction of prophets in the Bible? I can. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and called of God. That God has continued to place prophets among us to lead and guide us. The purpose of which is to return again to Him after we have done all that we can do. Show more Show less
