Hi I'm Jeff

I'm happily married and expecting our first child and studying engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I served a 2 year mission in Brazil and learned so many life lessons (and Portuguese). They were indeed the happiest years of my life until I was married. Married life is so much better! I love cars, sports, technology, all types of music except rap and country (in general). I used to play the French horn and I pretend that I know how to play guitar. I am an avid tennis player and I really enjoy football, basketball, soccer, and baseball as well. I come from a family of ten kids and when others ask how many kids I want I tell them that I'll start with ten and then see how we feel after that. We are excited to meet our first child very soon.

Why I am a Mormon

The easy way to explain why I am a Mormon is to say that I was born a Mormon, but that isn't the only reason. Growing up at church I was often touched by the Savior's teachings in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I felt that they were true. The Book of Mormon teaches that if we sincerely pray to God and ask Him if the Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet, then He will definitely answer and tell us the truth. One night I did just that, and I felt God's peaceful Spirit touch my heart and I knew that it was true. This is what I have built my life around, and I know that if I follow the Savior's teachings I can return to live with Him with my family for eternity.

How I live my faith

My wife and I help in our church organizations by helping to keep track of the efforts to visit each family every month (called home teaching for men and visiting teaching for women). We also have just been called to teach the 15-18 year old teenagers in our ward. It is sometimes daunting but always very fulfilling. Our callings at church make us feel wanted and important.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jeff
Mormons definitely consider the Bible to be the word of God, just like the Book of Mormon and other works of scripture. In fact, the Bible confirms our faith. We believe that God continues to speak to His people today, just as He did to the prophets in the Bible. Show more Show less
