Hi I'm Cord

I spend most of my day emailing and calling from a office cubical decorated with pictures from my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like cooking, taking naps on the couch, and getting hugs from my kids. I like to go places I have never been, and am willing to try any food at least once. I am a mid-level manager in a company no one has ever heard of. I am a transplant to Minnesota from Idaho via Arkansas. The best part of my day is coming home to a house full of kids that love me and a wife that appreciates that I am doing my best as a father and husband.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined to the church in their early 30's, and I was born shortly aftwerward. I grew up as a Mormon, but I had to decide for myself if it was true. It was easy to look around and see how my family and friend's families benefitted from living the gospel standards, so I knew that living the gospel had good fruits. I had to read the Book of Mormon and ask Heavenly Father for an answer if the church was really true or just a good thing. After reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed and asked God if it was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. I recived a witness from the Holy Ghost that it was true. As I continue to live as a member of the church, I am blessed everyday with peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of Jesus Christ every day. Those you know me best, know I make lots of mistakes, but that reminds me how much I need Christ's help everyday. I love to get involved in my community and do all kinds of service projects. I teach my children that they are children of Heavenly Father and treat others the way that Jesus would. I try to find the right balance of doing my best at work, and finding enough time to give to my wife and kids. Most importantly, I try to make anyone I am around know that they have great self worth.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

When Christ bulit his church, he wanted everyone to play a role in ministering to each other. The church is meant to be a vehicle to help your family participate in the teachings of the gospel, not just to observe them. Show more Show less
