Hi I'm Tammy
I'm a Mormon.
I am a mother of 2 children. Before having children, I taught in a junior high school and worked mostly with kids learning English. I enjoy running, hiking, playing the piano, reading, and gardening. Currently, I spend most of my days having adventures with my children.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised a member of the LDS church, but I am not a Mormon only because of that. I am a Mormon, because I truly have a testimony that this is Christ's church on the earth today; and that it was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. As I strive to live the gospel more fully, my testimony grows and my happiness and joy increases.
How I live my faith
Right now, I am working in the Relief Society at my church. The Relief Society is one of the largest organizations for women in the world. We strive to do three things: strenthen home and family, increase personal righteousness and offer relief. We do this through service projects, classes on things such as self-reliance, and learning ways to improve life in the home. In the church, we also have a program called visiting teaching. This program allows me to serve two specific women in my ward. Many times this may mean bringing in meals, watching their children when they are sick, talking about gospel principles, etc. Previously, I worked with the youth of my ward. Each Tuesday night we would have an activity to help them serve, learn new skills, and/or socialize.
