Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a scuba diver. I'm mother to five children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is not perfect, but I am happy and at peace because of my understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is saying a lot since one of my children has cancer. I graduated from college in Business Management and have worked in bookkeeping and accounting, but my passion is humanitarian work. I am currently a stay-at-home mom (married to an entrepreneur). I am active in school, community, and church and try to make the world a better place, one day and one person at a time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. Understanding God's plan has given my life such meaning and purpose. Living Christ's teachings brings me joy in a world filled with turmoil.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a personal, family, and community level. I pray in private to my Heavenly Father many times each day. I read the scriptures and strive for the Holy Spirit to be with me. My husband and I pray with our children night and morning and at meals. We hold Family Home Evening every Monday night during which we teach our children the gospel, sing songs, and play games together. We all wake up 30 minutes early each day to read scriptures out loud as a family. We talk about gospel topics every day as they come up in our lives. I attend church every Sunday and actively serve in the women's organization of our church.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Building faith takes work, just like building muscles. Spiritual exercise comes in many forms: prayer, scripture study, pondering, attending worship services, serving others, etc. I cannot expect to be strong spiritually if I am not committed to doing the work it takes. Or, to use another analogy, if I don't water my spiritual plant regularly, it will die. The first step towards having faith in Jesus Christ is to desire to believe. If you are patient and act on that desire (doing the spiritual work necessary), your faith will grow. The Lord has promised us that, and I know it is true. Show more Show less
