Hi I'm Mark

I love sign language. I sing in musicals. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was going to college for one and a half years. I was majoring in Chemical Engineering. College was a lot of fun, but I have decided to take time off of it and serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the next two years of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I know that nothing else will bring me closer to my Father in Heaven. Nothing else can allow me to feel the love of my Savior more than His gospel that is available to all of us. I'm Mormon because I know that this is His gospel. I know this because I have prayed to know if it is true. The same way that I learned of its truth is available to all of us! We can pray to know of the truth and I promise we will get an answer.

How I live my faith

I am devoting two years of my life, serving my Heavenly Father and His children. I spend my time teaching about Jesus Christ and serving all of the people I see, whether are Mormons or not!

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Yes! This is a testimony that Jesus Christ loves all of us! He didn't just visit Jerusalem; He cares about all of us enough to make sure His Gospel was available to all of us. The Book of Mormon has Jesus Christ's Gospel for all of us to read and learn from. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

We proselyte because we see how our message has helped us and our families. We want the happiness and peace that we feel to be something that everyone should have that chance to bring Jesus Christ into our lives more! Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a young boy who was searching for the truth that he knew God had promised. He was trying to find the church that was the one that was talked about in the Bible. He decided to study from the Bible and find the answer. He was reading in the Book of Ephesians chapter four, verse five, "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism." He knew that that was not that case in the world. He saw many different churches that baptized in many different ways. He decided that the answer would still come from the Bible, so he continued to study it. He was studying in the Epistle of James. When he came across a verse that struck him. It read "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God...and it shall be given him." If anyone lacked wisdom it was him. He decided to take the challenge from James and decided to pray to know what church to join. He retired to a quiet grove of trees where he could be alone and talk to God freely. He prayed to know which church to join, then something marvelous happened, in his own words, "I saw a pillar of light, exactly over my head, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me, I saw two Personages, Whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name, and said, pointing to the other, 'This is my Beloved Son, Hear Him!'" Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He was called as a prophet to restore the simple truths that were lost in years and years of darkness. Just like Joseph Smith we are able to receive an answer to our prayers. If we pray to God and ask in faith, we will receive an answer. I know that this is true because I have prayed about it for myself. I know that any of us can receive that witness from God when we need help. Show more Show less
