Hi I'm Emmilie

I am a journalist, a blogger and a lover of bacon cheeseburgers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college with a degree in communication. I work for a newspaper in Salt Lake City and absolutely love it. My passion for journalism stems from a deep desire for truth. This desire is also fulfilled through my knowledge of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and my activity in The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served a mission in Billings, Montana. It was one of the most life-changing experiences of my life. Each day I am filled with gratitude for how my experiences serving among the people of Montana have changed me.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was five. I remember the missionaries that came to our home and taught us the Gospel. Even at such a young age, it left a lasting impression on my heart. I knew that the changes that my family was making were right. I chose early on to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Maybe you've realized this, but life throws a few curve balls at you. There were many experiences in my life that forced me to make a choice: I could either abandon what I had learned in my youth, or I could cling to it. Through fervent prayer and careful introspection I came to realize that 1) the Gospel was indeed true, and 2) I could not live my life without it. I gained a testimony that the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible, truly was the word of God, and that it was indeed brought forth by a Prophet. Knowing that Jesus is the Christ, and that His gospel is again on the earth in its fullness changed my life.

How I live my faith

I am inspired each day to live a better day than yesterday. Though some days are more successful than others, the teachings of Jesus Christ are never far from my thoughts. This comes through diligent study of the scriptures, coupled with the application of their teachings. I study my scriptures, I pray, and strive daily to do what Jesus Christ would have me do. I serve, I work, I grow.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Emmilie
The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It goes hand in hand with the Bible to testify to the world that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior and Reedeemer. The Bible is a record of prophets who testified of one Jesus Christ who would come into the world. It gives an account of the ministry of Christ. It takes place in the Holy Land where Christ taught and established His doctrine. The Book of Mormon is a record of the people on the American continent. God called prophets in the ancient Americas as well so that all could know of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is an account of these prophets who testified of Christ. The climax of the Book of Mormon is when Jesus Christ himself appears to the people and ministers unto them. Show more Show less
