Hi I'm Emmilie
I am a journalist, a blogger and a lover of bacon cheeseburgers. I'm a Mormon.
I recently graduated from college with a degree in communication. I work for a newspaper in Salt Lake City and absolutely love it. My passion for journalism stems from a deep desire for truth. This desire is also fulfilled through my knowledge of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and my activity in The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served a mission in Billings, Montana. It was one of the most life-changing experiences of my life. Each day I am filled with gratitude for how my experiences serving among the people of Montana have changed me.
My family was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was five. I remember the missionaries that came to our home and taught us the Gospel. Even at such a young age, it left a lasting impression on my heart. I knew that the changes that my family was making were right. I chose early on to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Maybe you've realized this, but life throws a few curve balls at you. There were many experiences in my life that forced me to make a choice: I could either abandon what I had learned in my youth, or I could cling to it. Through fervent prayer and careful introspection I came to realize that 1) the Gospel was indeed true, and 2) I could not live my life without it. I gained a testimony that the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible, truly was the word of God, and that it was indeed brought forth by a Prophet. Knowing that Jesus is the Christ, and that His gospel is again on the earth in its fullness changed my life.
I am inspired each day to live a better day than yesterday. Though some days are more successful than others, the teachings of Jesus Christ are never far from my thoughts. This comes through diligent study of the scriptures, coupled with the application of their teachings. I study my scriptures, I pray, and strive daily to do what Jesus Christ would have me do. I serve, I work, I grow.
