Hi I'm Corde

I am a sports fanatic, and I live life to the fullest. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very normal guy if you ask me. I love to have fun and really enjoy life. I love absolutely anything that has to do with sports, and if you ask me what my favorite tv show is I will tell you that it is Sportscenter on ESPN. I grew up in a very good family. I have one older sister and two younger brothers. With this family I have been able to visit almost all of the United States and have seen the many bueaties of the earth. I love to be out doors as well and I love manual labor. I don´t know it is, but when i get my hands dirty, working hard under the sun. I just feel good! You know what I mean? Right now for almost the last two years of my life I have been in the Yucatan Peninsula teaching the Mexican people the Restored Gospel. I have been able to learn the spanish language and I have fallen in the love with the people. I really enjoy the Mexican culture and especially the way they cook. I have been able to see and meet many people who have helped me become the person I am today. I am not a very shy guy and I love to make new friends. I´m very easy to get along with because I am pretty chill. I love to laugh and whenever a challenge presents itself I am more than willing overcome it and learn how I can improve as a person. Let´s just say my life motto literally is: Go big or go home! I always go big!

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was lucky enough to be born in a family where the mormon beliefs were already taught. As a young boy and in my youth I always felt that the Mormon faith was correct because it always made sense to me. When I went to church and was taught all the answers to my questions I just felt that was I was taught was correct and never really questioned its truthfulness. I guess you could say I went on logic. But as I grew older I was able to see that I couldn´t continue nor teach other people with only logic. I needed a testimony from the only Being that could give it to me. Through many prayers and study I have been able to recieve a spiritual testimony from the Holy Ghost. The only person that can tell us the spiritual truths. Now I can say that I am not Mormon only because it makes sense to me, but becuase I know without a doubt that God has answered my prayers and through His Holy Spirit made me feel that this is the only church on earth that will bring me back to Him. I am also a Mormon because this faith explains the plan that God has for us so perfectly. The Plan of Salvation helps me know where I came from, why I am here, and where can I go after this life. Having this knowledge has given me more hope in this life. Because I now know that some day I have the opportunity if I do every God has commanded to live with my loved ones in a state of never ending happiness. This is the promise He has for us and their is no greater goal that I want to complete. I know that one day we will be able to live with our Savior and Father again for all eternidad.

How I live my faith

Like I said earlier, I am serving a full time mission in Mexico right now as an official representative. For the last two years I have been teaching and testifying to people how they can improve their lives by only accepting the true doctrine of Christ and live the commandments that He has taught us. I am trying to show people that really our purpose here in life is to enjoy the experience and learn how we can return to our Father´s presence. I know that in order to live our life the happiest we have to follow the commandments that God has given us because He is our loving Heavenly Father and knows what it is that a person really needs in order to be happy!

Who was Joseph Smith?

In the early 1800s Joseph Smith was a very confused 14 year-old. In his community people were struggling with which religion they should follow. His family included. His father went to one church with some of his family, while is mother went to another church with the rest. Joseph had one question, what church did the Lord want him to join. Like any good Christian, he looked for his answer in the Bible, and he came across a scripture in the book of James that read: "If any of ye lack wisdom, let him ask of God. Who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not." After reading this he felt compelled that that is what he needed to do. He needed to ask God which church he should join. So early in the morning he went into a grove of trees and knelt down and prayed. Asking with real intent, knowing God would answer his question. While he was doing this a light began to descend upon him and when it had fully rested upon him he saw two men. One of them pointed to the other and said this is my beloved son here him. It was God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. So Joseph asked which church he should join, and they told him that he should join none of the sects because none of them had the complete truth. This led to him being revealed where to find an ancient record. Which after he translated became The Book of Mormon. After the translation the Mormon Church was established and Joseph Smith became the first living prophet on the earth after the apostasy. Show more Show less

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

The Mormon Church has always been focused on bettering the lives of others. If it's not by helping other countries after disasters have struck, it's by giving light and knowledge to its people of the truth and bringing them closer to their Father in heaven. Show more Show less
