Tony Parrott: Mormon.

Hi I'm Tony Parrott

About Me

I was Born in Misawa, Japan. I was put up for adoption at birth. I'm blessed to be adopted into a wonderful family. I'm the second oldest of 7 kids. I'm from South Carolina, and I am serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Riverside, California! I love the Gospel and the blessings that i recieve and that I see others recieve from it! Nothing could be better. I've played piano for 12 years. I sing, I draw. I love Life! I'm planning on getting a degree in Architecture after my mission. I'm looking forward for what the future has to offer, and I don't worry, because I have the joy and the guidance that is needed.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply because I had a desire to know truth and truth was revealed. One simple formula. Desire, Motivation, Action, all leads to prayer. No person or website convinced me it was right and true, but I went the ultimate source of all Knowledge and truth: My Heavenly Father. I know all can do the same. Out of all the other views and great beliefs out there, this one made since and was so clear to me. The difference from everything else, is that i found Joy.....not just tempory happiness, but an everlasting, non-ending, infinite Joy. I felt that I was brought one step closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ and My Father in Heaven, and i continue to do so everyday.

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

Mormons do family history and genealogy work because we feel and we know that our ties with our families and and ancestors are so important. What happens to all those who lived and died without ever recieving the chance to know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Well, the reason we do this great work is to allow those who missed out on that opportunity to recieve all the blessings that our Heavenly Father has in store for us. God is our loving Heavenly Father, who will help us in any way he can to make it back to Him one day. We find and learn about our Family history to know our story, our background, our relatives and their stories and to help us gain a greater perspective and appreciation for our family. God has blessed us with our families. Families are that social unit central to God's plan to make us happy and experience growth and joy. How can we gain that source of joy? Through our efforts in trying to know about our family. I'm currently on a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Riverside Mission. I'm adopted since birth, and just recently I had the opportunity through LDS Family Search to find my Biological mom. what a great sense of accomplishment and joy filled me and a feeling i can't yet describe. Out of all the things I could think about the first thing that came to my mind was to find out my story. To know where i came from and to know my biological history. A great sense of urgency came to me, for me to start now, and do my family history on that biological side, and to continue in this Great work and allowing the Human Family to be connected and not just through paper documents but through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm a full-time representative of the church for two years in the California Riverside Mission! I live, love, and declare what i believe and what brings me the most Joy.
