Hi I'm Ariana

I'm a silly mama who never sings the right words. I can't get enough learning. My life is an adventure! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the full-time mama and wife of a little American family that's living it up across the pond in England. The love of my life and I jumped over here to get our graduate degrees and our spunky little girl showed up along the way. We may have no idea what the future holds for us, but we're committed to putting our family first and enjoying the journey! Education is a big part of my life (thanks Mom!) and it is something I don't know if I'll ever get enough of. Getting my masters degree was a huge goal of mine and it was worth everything it took to get there. Ask me a question about something related to science, especially exercise science, and I'll talk your ear off! I strongly believe in pursuing what we love and enjoy. I believe that we each come to this earth with specific dreams, talents, and passions for a reason, God needs each of us to be ourselves!

Why I am a Mormon

Though born to parents who are both Mormon, I am not a member because of their expectations or because it's all I've ever known. I choose to be a member of this faith because every time I've put it to the test or asked for answers, it has been true and answers have come. In my personal struggles or even just my happy everyday life, the Church of Jesus Christ brings me closer to Jesus Christ. In this gospel I find a deep peace and joy that penetrates deep into my heart and I feel a witness of the reality of the Atonement of Christ. At times I have struggled to match a pursuit of science with my faith and beliefs, but as I have both sought answers in my studies and on my knees in prayers, I have come to understand that science and faith are not exclusive of each other. All the questions aren't resolved, but I know that someday they will be. I haven't ever had a big 'aha' moment. My conversion and commitment has grown out of hundreds of small witnesses, blessings, and moments of personal revelation.

How I live my faith

My faith is in my actions! Or more accurately, faith is what drives me to action. Because of my faith I say my prayers first thing every morning, I try to honestly study my scriptures everyday, and I pray again before my day is over. It is what sets my priorities: with Christ as my number one and my family second only to him. It is what helps me wake up and always be ready so that every weekday I can teach the youth in my area about the scriptures before they go to school. Faith helped me choose to stay at home with my little family over pursuing a career. Faith helps me know that when I follow God's commands, whether they be written in ancient scripture or from modern prophets, that what I am doing is pleasing to God and will help me come unto my Savior. Living my faith is what leads me to ask questions when I don't understand or when I encounter something that appears to contradict my beliefs. If I didn't have faith, I don't think I'd ask questions, I'd be too afraid of not receiving answers or finding out that everything I've relied on isn't true. But, I have faith that I can find answers, that God wants me to find them and that He even wants me to ask questions. That's faith to me, knowing there are answers waiting for me.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Husband and wife are meant to go hand in hand and work together as equal partners, the perfect team. Together their ultimate purpose is to rear a family rooted in the gospel; providing their children with love, safety, support, and spiritual opportunities for growth. The husband is primarily responsible for providing financially, while the wife carries the responsibility for teaching and nurturing the children. Each couple is going to find their happy balance of how the duties are shared - every family situation is different. The most important thing is that the family is the highest priority and that the husband and wife do it together! Show more Show less
