Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Michael

I'm a teacher, I'm a husband, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as a member of the Church, but my parents were both introduced to the Church in their 20's. I'm a junior high school teacher. I trained as a gymnast when I was younger and coached for several years. I play piano by ear. I love lacrosse, and played in high school. I am married to my best friend. My faith in Christ has shaped every area of my life. I have found so much growth and healing as I have taken my trials to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints primarily because I know the Book of Mormon is true. The joy and the positive change that I experience in my life are huge blessings that I attribute to Jesus Christ. I am learning more and more about Him through His Church, and through that book. The witness that the Book of Mormon has of Christ is powerful. As a missionary, my faith in Christ and my testimony that the Book of Mormon is true grew immensely. I saw many individuals make lasting changes and find joy as they read and followed the teachings of that Book. I'm a pragmatic person. "If it works, do it. If it doesn't work, change it." The gospel I have been taught since I was a child works without exceptions. What I love about being a Mormon is that everything I experience just fits perfectly into what I have been taught. There is so much peace, confidence, and security in knowing the truth.

How I live my faith

Aside from marriage, nothing in my life so far has been as rewarding as serving as a full-time missionary. I served all over the state of Montana and talked with hundreds and hundreds of people. I loved being a missionary. Every day I tried my best to help people come to the Lord; I want to help other people find joy. I live my faith by praying daily and by reading scriptures. I try to find opportunities to serve other people. I know that my faith has brought me happiness, and I am eager to help others find the same happiness.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Michael
Missionaries today do not recite a script or act like robots, but they try to help others however they can, meeting people wherever they are, whatever level they're on, whatever time of life they're in. Missionaries mostly strive to strengthen people's faith in Christ. They do this by teaching about how the original truths Christ taught were lost, distorted, or changed, but how they were then restored in our day through a modern prophet. They share the evidence of this restoration of truth-The Book of Mormon-and invite them to read it. Those who read The Book of Mormon and ask God sincerely to know if it is true will get an answer to their prayer from God that it is. That is where faith in the restored gospel begins, and how faith in Christ grows. It is a great experience to have missionaries in your home. If you ever get the chance, take it!  Show more Show less
