Hi I'm Megan

I'm a mother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, New Mexico, and New York. I love running and yoga. I went to college and graduated in Communication Disorders. I got married in 2008. I taught preschool for a year. And now I'm a Full-time Mom. I love being a mother! Each day brings new joy as I watch my baby learn and grow.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormon, so I was raised going to church on Sundays and different church activities throughout the week. But it was a while until I decided for myself to be a Mormon. When I was 16 I started to question many of the things my parents had taught me. I thought, "What if there really isn't a God? What if life really was all an evolutionary accident?" Fortunately, I decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father about my fears. Suddenly in the middle of my prayer I saw things in a whole new light. I understood what the prophet Alma said in the Book of Mormon: "All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator." Since that moment, everything I do to act in faith of my beliefs (i.e. prayer, service, obedience to God's commandments) just serves to strengthen my conviction that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I know that he atoned for my sins so that I can live eternally with my family and with Him and Heavenly Father. I know that the only way to gain eternal life is through Him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church.

How I live my faith

Each day I find ways to live my faith- through things like prayer, scripture reading, and singing hymns. I also have the opportunity as a "visiting teacher" to visit 3 other Mormon women in my neighborhood each month. When we visit we talk about Gospel truths and strengthen each other in our beliefs. In addition to visiting them, I serve them. When they need something, I am a resource to help and comfort. I try and make it a point to bring them something yummy from my kitchen every month too.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Megan
Oh yes I do! I think it is absolutely wonderful that God speaks to us through the living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. If we want to know what Heavenly Father wants us to do, then all we need to do is read the words of our Prophet. I know that his words are the words of God. I know that following his counsel will help me and my family stay grounded in this crazy world. I find it incredibly comforting to know that Heavenly Father loves us so much, he would give us a Prophet. Show more Show less
