Hi I'm Amy

I'm an artist, a graduate student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate student, and I'm working toward becoming an art teacher in public education. I love hiking, the theatre, and music... especially any song with a banjo.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a firm testimony in Jesus Christ, the Atonement, and the Plan of Salvation. I've come to know that Joseph Smith was called to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth, and translate the Book of Mormon. When I live my life in order with the gospel principles-- it seems as though a light has been shed on what it is I should be doing and what my purpose is. I'm grateful everyday that I have knowledge of the true and living gospel.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I attend a singles ward where I am surrounded by young adults who are all trying to live the same standards and supporting one another. I also attend an Institute of Religion class throughout the week. I've noticed when I commit to daily prayer, scripture study, and I attend church regularly, I always have a better week filled with the Spirit.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We are reminded time and time again that we are to love our brothers and sisters no matter what challenges they face. Homosexuality is a challenge for many, including some members of the church. We believe that a number of factors may be involved, and we may never fully understand it in this life. However, if commandments are kept and chastity is honored, and the feelings of homosexuality are not acted upon--blessings of full fellowship in the Church can be enjoyed, as well as all the blessings after this lifetime that will make it all worth overcoming the challenge.
