Hi I'm Scott Nielson

I'm a BYU graduate, a Teach for America alum, and a current law student at Georgetown.

About Me

I love to read about politics, current events, and history. I ski about twice a year. I play racquetball and I'm (slowly) learning how to play golf. When I graduate and get a job, my first purchase will be a piano!

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors were Mormon pioneers and my parents served as missionaries in Germany and Italy. Although I was raised as a Mormon, I have come to know for myself the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as I have attended church meetings, taught gospel lessons, served as a missionary, and received personal revelation.

How I live my faith

After graduating high school, I served as a Spanish-speaking missionary in Houston, Texas. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing the gospel with them when it feels right. I follow the counsel of church leaders to be an "active citizen" and participate in the political process by learning about candidates for political office and staying informed on current events and issues.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Scott Nielson
No they do not. But they do encourage members to be active and involved in political, governmental, and community affairs. This is increasingly evident as many church members now hold public office or are currently seeking public office. Show more Show less
