Hi I'm Seth B. Wagenman

I am a father of six and a husband. I am a Major in the United States Air Force. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of six and a husband. I am a Major in the United States Air Force.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon, apply its teachings in my life, and continually find them to be true.

How I live my faith

I pray to God to know His will, and then I do it. If I do not get an answer, then I assume He trusts me to do what is right.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Seth B. Wagenman
If you know me personally, please ask me, and I will always do my best to answer your questions right away, if possible. There are some questions to which I do not know the answer, as explained in the Book of Mormon, Book of Alma, Chapter 40, verse 3: "...there are many mysteries which are kept, that no one knoweth them save God himself." https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/40.3?lang=eng#2 Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Seth B. Wagenman
The simplest way is for society to stop consuming it, and the quickest way to make that happen is if we all ignore pornography when people try to shock you with it. Jesus Christ Himself "suffered temptations but gave no heed unto them" (Doctrine and Covenants, Section 20, verse 22). https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/20.22?lang=eng#21 Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Seth B. Wagenman
If you know me, please meet with proselyting missionaries from the Church in my home. My wife and I would be very pleased to host you and to sit with and support you as you investigate the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you do not know me, find a Mormon whom you trust, and ask them to introduce you to the missionaries. They will be happy to do so, and to support you as you learn more about the Church. What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Seth B. Wagenman
Same-gender attraction is not a sin; in fact, Jesus Christ, who never sinned, suffered all manner of temptations--that is, every single type of possible temptation that exists. Jesus knows how it feels to be sexually attracted to persons of the same gender. In other words, being tempted to sin is nothing to be ashamed of, but is rather an opportunity to demonstrate one's commitment to God and His plan for eternal family happiness. Jesus Christ, who has all power in heaven and on earth, only allows Satan to tempt us to disobey God if there is a way for us to resist or escape from the temptation, and that way is Him, Jesus Christ. There is a difference between having a weakness and/or experiencing a temptation, and giving in to temptation and/or weakness. Homosexual attraction is not the same thing as living a homosexual lifestyle, such as same sex marriage. Living a homosexual lifestyle is a sin if it involves breaking the law of chastity, which prohibits sexual relations except between a man and a woman who are legally and lawfully wedded one to another. Therefore, sexual relations between any two persons of the same gender, regardless of whether they occur within the bounds of a legal and lawful marriage, are a serious violation of God's commandments, just as any other violation of the law of chastity would be. Understanding gender is required to understand the law of chastity. The gender of a person is determined by their pre-mortal spiritual characteristics only. Show more Show less
