About Me

Hobbies r History, Rocks, Genealogy, Scouts, I run a small museum, and from time to time am an LDS Branch President/Bishop. Married 45 years, 3 children, 6 grandchildren. one cat, one fish..-

Why I am a Mormon

I've spent my life searching for truths. Science, history, religion, the best truths most useful truths I've found, are those taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I've been asked twice to serve by leading the congergation. I've enjoyed those "tours of duty" and interacted with so many wonderful people. I've done my best to be the person the Church taught me God wants me to be. Nowhere near perfect, but heading that way...

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Fred V Provoncha
Information, inspiration. I'm always amazed by home much "new" information I find in the scriptures. And by how rededicated I become to what the Lord wants. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Fred V Provoncha
Nope, every year from the pulpit the Church asks me to read a directive that we do not discuss politics on the church grounds. We will sometimes endorse or oppose something in the public arena, but each member will examine their conscience and act as they chose. I have close friends in the church who belong to both major political parties, and there are good members of the church serving in congress from both major parties. So it has always been, and so it will likely continue. Show more Show less

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Fred V Provoncha
In my various Church callings, I've been deeply involved in the Church welfare program. The Christ told us all how to treat one another, and the Church shows us how to do it, and provides the needed resources. This is just one of the ways we love one another. Show more Show less
