Elana : Mormon.

Hi I'm Elana

About Me

I am a mother of 5 beautiful children. I love to read and to be in the kitchen. I went to some college and ended up becoming a Medical Assistant. Although, I have not worked in 13+years. Once my first child came it was so hard to leave him with anyone else. I love being a stay at home mom! I think I have the best job on earth. I enjoy scrap booking and making and decorating cakes.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and at the age of 14 decided i wanted to go to another church. I was searching for something. I was just not sure what it was. When I met my husband he offered me a Book of Mormon and challenged me to read it and pray about it. I was very unhappy at this time in my life. The gospel gives me joy. I can honestly say that it makes my heart swell. My husband saved me that day when he offered me a book i already had at home. I know this church is on the earth for a reason. It saved my life. I am a Mormon because that is who i really am inside.

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

Prayer has helped me so many times in my life. I can remember a time when I was with my sister in law and our kids. We were driving to visit family in Arizona and had a tire blowout in Death Valley. It is so hot and we were at a part where there was nothing around for miles. My sister and i got out of the car shaking and scared. What were we going to do on the side of the freeway with 5 kids and a blown tire. We said a prayer standing out in the heat asking for help. Within minutes a man came walking across the freeway (he was going the other direction). He said he noticed us and thought we could use some help. He got the spare tire on and sent us to the only tire shop a couple miles away. I was traveling with little money, and the tire was for the exact amount I had. I know that God heard us that day when we needed his help. Not only did he send help our way he also provided a tire that we could afford.

How I live my faith

I am currently teaching Sunday school for the youth. As a family we say our prayers. I find it helps to keep harmony in the house. We also like to do lots of activities together as a family. For me personally it helps me to feel more connected to God if i am saying my prayers and talking to him regularly. I enjoy studying and reading my scriptures. We make sure to go to every potluck and extra activity that may be going on. The people in my ward are my family!
