Whitney: Mormon.

Hi I'm Whitney

About Me

I've been a member of the church for 4 years. I was recently married in the Atlanta temple in June 2011. I just opened a hair salon my small town. I enjoy my life and my job.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the church when I was 19 years old. I knew the church was true after my first discussion. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life. I know that I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father and that I have a divine purpose here on this earth. I am thankful families can be sealed together forever.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

If you aren't familar with prayer, it can sometimes be hard to start off with. Someone once told me that praying should be simple. You just talk to the Lord like you would a good friend. I never thought I could pray good enough because my family members said the most beautiful prayers I had ever heard. But truthfully, if you sincerely pray and humble yourself, a simple prayer like a new member makes you feel the Spirit so strongly. We should pray every morning and night with our families because it really strengthens one another. We should always keep a prayer in our hearts, too. Prayer has helped me through a lot in life. I'm so thankful for the chance I get to speak with my Savior everytime I pray. He wants us to pray to Him because He has felt our sorrows and joys in life and He understands them.

How I live my faith

I love the fellowship the church offers. I try to tell at least one person a day about the church. The church brings me so much happiness and I feel like I should share it with others around me. The gospel is so beautiful. Sure there is worldly things and lots of temptations, but that is why I surround myself with friends and family who uplift me. I try to always have the spirit with me and I know that if I'm doing something I'm not suppose to, then that special spirit and feeling leaves us.
