Hi I'm Dwight.

I'm a Mormon, true blue, through and through.

About Me

My wife and I have somehow raised eight children. We've been married for 29 years, and operate a small leasing business in Louisiana.

Why I am a Mormon

I really began to get a testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ while attending high school seminary. The New Testament is so wonderful, and it rang true to me that we can receive answers to our prayers today. I began reading the Book of Mormon, too. Early in my two-year mission on Indian Reservations of North and South Dakota, the Lord's spirit confirmed to me that it was all true, that young Joseph really did see God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ in a grove of trees near Palmyra, New York in 1820. Priesthood authority really was restored to the earth, by no other than John the Baptist and Peter, James and John. Jesus is a perfect example of how to live and give of ourselves. Revelation can guide our lives today, if we will just have a prayer in our heart. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me such joy and peace, even when things are not going particularly well.

How I live my faith

In my calling as a stake president, I get to work with bishops and branch presidents, visiting people who can use an invitation to join us at Church, or just need to know we miss them. Temple blessings are for everyone willing to be diligent in their testimony of Christ. We all have talents that shouldn't be buried. Like any other calling in the Church, the measure of my success is if I am more patient and kind with my own family at home. If I can bring some happiness to my wife and children, then the Lord blesses us to carry His spirit to other homes, without hypocrisy.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Mormons attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jesus himself restored the church to the earth through a prophet, Joseph Smith, in 1830. It is the original Christian church, built on a foundation of priesthood authority, apostles and prophets, temples, and Jesus Christ himself, as the chief cornerstone. You can know if this is all true, by reading, pondering and praying about the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is all true, folks. You can know it, if you will just desire to believe, and act on that by learning more about it all. You will experience such joy as you consider how merciful the Lord has been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that you shall receive these things, and ponder it in your heart. Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We believe in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon. It is unusual for Christians to believe in more scripture than the Holy Bible, but true to the biblical and ancient american prophecies, the Book of Mormon has come forth in these last days, and is another testament that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations.
