Hi I'm Blake

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and i am serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love to drive anything with power! i off road in my jeep, i ride ATV's like im being chased and I pretty much have the drifting skills of a pro. I love to play any sport and especially excelle at Dodgeball, which is more of a calling than a sport to me. I love my family, our savior and our Heavenly Father, they mean everything to me and i work hard to share with others what i have. I would say normal doesnt exist and so i am just kinda me. I play airsoft, i paintball, i played soccer for many years competitively, i was recruited for the junior olympics for running but turned it down for soccer, i played laccrosse and i dated as much as i could. I believe that going fast is better therapy than a psychatrist. I believe that life is what you make it and often we make some dumb things and that's why Christ did what we call the Atonement. I have a family of a mother and father who are my best friends, 5 sisters and 3 brothers who i would do anything for, i have 17 going on 18 neices and nephews and i know our families can be together forever. I am going to have a double major in Political science and business and then its on to Law school. I plan to retire to own and cook for my own high class restaruant and to be a moral and ethical officer in our government. I can wiggle my ears, i love making and watching movies, i I enjoy video games and spending time with my best friends, who are also serving the savior on their missions in Brazil, Mexico, Italy and so forth. I believe life should be fulfilling and not just full, I believe that each day we create our future and that as we focus our lives on the savior, all things fall into place for our good.

Why I am a Mormon

A lot of people I meet say, "O well you grew up Mormon didn’t you?" and although I reply, "thankfully yes" I know that each member of our church is truly a convert. We must be, the only way to follow Christ is to read his words and ask him which church we should go to. I have personally studied the scriptures and I have pondered over them, and I have asked God if this is all true and what I should be a part of. And I can tell you that I have gotten an answer from God that this is his church and that the Book of Mormon is true, and an answer from God is stronger than the gates of hell which try to get me to deny what I know to be true. It's simple “by their fruits ye shall know them" (matt 7:20) try the fruit and you will know too.

How I live my faith

A man is but his thoughts and desires, so i live my faith by first thinking of Christ and desiring to be with him again and then i act, I do as he would have me do. Each day we choose who we will serve and we deside to either have the joy of the gospel or the misery of the world and satan. I love everyone and i try diligently to show them that i do, i share with them all that i have, especially my testimony of our savior and his Atonement. I am a servant of God, I am a full time missionary, and i am just a young man trying to live as Christ would have me live. I know that i am doing whats right because i feel the saviors love daily as i share the truth of this message.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The law of chastity is saving the beautiful ability of having children, for when you find your other half, or for me it will probably the other 3/4ths. Its protection against what we know inside to be wronge, the moral code for God's children to be truly happy and to not satisfy the deadly thing of lust. To me, liveing the law of chastity is obvious. I dont have to worry about STD's, teen pregnancey, abortion, humiliation and feeling crummy inside. I respect myself, women and God enough to do this and that truly makes my life happy. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Like Christ, its that simple. we live as he did because we know that it's the way home and we love him enough to do it. If its good, we do it, if its not we dont. no we arent perfect but we will never give up in trying to be. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

To be baptized without the authority from God and not a school is the difference between and getting pulled over by an ice-cream truck and a police officer. The officer has the authority given him and he is backed by the Government. Likewise when someone is baptized into this, the savior's church, that baptism is supported and upheld by God. We recognize that many of other faiths are trying to do the right thing by getting baptized, but that’s what the ice-cream man thought he was doing as well. I know that this is the savior's church and it holds the authority of God, called the Priesthood, to perform baptisms under the proper authority. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The quest for heaven is one that has motivated many to span the globe, to fight conquests and to search for brilliant signs that God exists. But for you and me it is simpler than that. Ever member of this, the savior's church, needs a spiritual, not intelectual conversion. and it breaks down to 3 simple steps. 1st one must search, then they must 2nd Ponder, and 3rd they must pray. Now i could go on and on about how this works and how it can apply to you. But we are gunna keep it simple. If you want to know if mormonism is true, search the Book of Mormon, then ponder on how it feels in your heart and mind, then pray and ask your Hevanely Father if it is true. If you do this you are promised and answer from God. And i personally testify that it works, because i have seen it change my life. Show more Show less
