Rennie: Mormon.

Hi I'm Rennie

About Me

I am a trainer, mentor and behavioural specialist. I am 50 years old and feel like I am 35! We have three kids, one who has moved out and got married. I have a strong background in computing and some sales. I currently work for a marketing advertings company either on the phones or backend production work. I have served in many callings in the church, a full time mission in North Carolina, served in many missionary callings in my local area. For the past six years I have been serving in the Primary and Sunday school programs of the church. Currently I am serving as the Sunday school President. I enjoy good wholesome movies and books and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I will keep this short. I listened to the Mormon missionaries when I was 21 in the Army. I learned of Joseph Smith and my elder borther Jesus Christ. The missionaries asked me what I thought of the message. I said this is either a lie or it is the greatest message the world has ever heard. I was then committed to pray about what was taught. I was overwhelmed with the love Heavenly Father has for us and spiritually pompted to get baptised immediately. This all happened within a week. The day after I got baptised and went to work and found out I had been posted. I had too pack my bags and I was send to the otherside of the country. I have been a faithful member for 30+ years.

Personal Stories

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

I am a convert to the church for some 30+ years now. I was never a good reader but I committed myself to read and pray if the Book of Mormon was true. In this process I came to understand the Lord's plan of happiness and my part in it and also where I came from, why I am here on earth and where I am going. I prayed and God answered in a way I could not deny that the book was scripture and meant to help us in the latter days.

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I do not want any of my friend to come up to me when we have pasted through the veil and say "You knew ... and you didn't say anything." I am a disciple of Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true, I know Heavenly Father loves all of us, He knows us personally and he wants to forgive us and help us come unto Christ. I recommend to anyone too listen to the Mormon missionies. The gospel has changed my life, the more I serve others the close I seem to come to Jesus Christ, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ ... Amem.

How I live my faith

I live by example and know I am not perfect. I repent regularly of any misdeed towards another. I strive to live a life of service whether it is to smile at someone, help someone move house or to be a listening ear to someone who just needs to talk. I am a trainer, mentor and behavioural specialist with God's help I assist people to accept personal responsibility and create the person they know they can be. We teach our children to live the commandents as we do and to ask themselves "What would the Saviour do/say?" when they have to make a decision. We attend church every week and visit the Sydney Temple monthly. My wife and I have been happily married for 25 years.
