Hi I'm Nate!

I grew up in Oregon, and now I'm a medical student in Louisiana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a medical student in Louisiana, and am recently married to my beautiful sweetheart. I have been a member of the church my whole life, and am so grateful to be a part of it. I enjoy the outdoors, I'm a big fan of soccer, football and doing things with my wife, my parents, brothers and sisters. I enjoy exercise and playing board games. Basically I enjoy a lot of things, I just enjoy life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel like it is the best place for me. Since I have been a member for a while, I have had many opportunities to see the benefits of being a member. But the biggest reason I am a member is because I have felt the Holy Ghost tell me that it is true. As I have read about and prayed about the doctrines of the church, I have felt at peace and have felt the warm feeling that I have come to know is the Holy Ghost telling me that it is true. In this way I know that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the prophet on the earth today is Thomas Monson. I love this church and know it is the church of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday, I read my scriptures every morning before going to school, and I teach the 8-12 year olds in Sunday school with my wife. Every Tuesday night I also help the boys with Cub Scouts. Its a lot of fun and I feel it really helps me and the kids I work with by doing all of these things. I know that doing these things, my personal efforts and my service make me a better person and also make the children better too.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

I definitely believe that families can be together forever. My wife and I were married 6 months ago, and I know that when we were married I felt like we were married by the power of God and our marriage would last forever. And I can't wait to be together forever! I love her with all my heart, and couldn't bear to be away from her after this life. I'm so grateful to feel like I do that families can be together forever. What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Well, first off, there are many more church buildings than temples. Church buildings are where sunday meetings are held, along with other activities. The temple is a special place, and there are only 134 around the world, in many countries. These temples are where we go to do special ordinances, for ourselves and for the dead. There we are given special blessings, and we can perform these ordinances on behalf of our ancestors so they can also receive these blessings. One of the ordinances we perform there for our ancestors is baptism. So the temple is just for these ordinances while the church building is for all other activities. Show more Show less
