Hi I'm Whitney

I am a wife, a mother, an avid learner, and a Mormon.

About Me

Nothing is more important to me than my family. I have an amazing husband who supports me in all my endeavors, and I have a baby daughter whose smile lights up my world. I am blessed to be able to stay home and raise our daughter myself. I'm also a teacher at church, which has been another huge blessing in my life. I love teaching and discussing the gospel with the sisters in my ward, and I look forward to every teaching opportunity I get.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, more than anything in this world. I feel His influence in my life every day, through the Holy Spirit. I know that He knows and loves all of us, individually, and that He wants the best for each of us, and I know that we can only have that "best" if we follow Him. I am a Mormon because I know that I can take anything life throws at me with Him at my side.

How I live my faith

My life has changed a lot in the last couple years, and it surprised me to learn that the way I live my faith didn't change too much. I study the scriptures every day, I pray throughout the day, I go to church, and I talk about the doctrine of the church with my family. However, the way I live my faith has changed in my attitude towards service. Just as before, I try to find ways to serve and to take any opportunity that I am given to help someone else. However, I have more recently come to know that the greatest service--the most important work--that I can do is actually right here in my own house. So I live my faith by moving forward each day with the hope that the chores and the feeding and the dishes that I do are all little things that are adding up to the whole of a heavenly home: an institution of learning, of love, and of the Spirit.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Whitney
The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead, after Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He was sent to this earth by Christ in order to testify of things which are true and to give us comfort. Every person on earth can feel the infuence of the Holy Ghost. After a person is baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he or she is then given the Gift of the Holy Ghost. This means that the Holy Ghost will always be with that person, as long as he or she lives the commandments. The Holy Ghost is one of the most beautiful gifts we have been given; it is through the Holy Ghost that we are able to know--in our own knowledge and in our own hearts--what is true and what is not.
