Hi I'm Adam

My wife and sons mean more to me than anything, I love history, I'm an instructional designer, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married with three little boys. I'm an instructional designer at a large community college. I recently graduated with my masters degree in teaching. I've lived in Chile, Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Indiana. I love being out in nature. I like to backpack, camp, and play basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the church when I was 17. Prior to becoming a member of the church I had been most impressed by the way that my friends and their families lived their lives. This made me want to learn more. I read the book of Mormon and the Bible, attended church, and tried to live what I was learning from the missionaries. Prior to my investigating the Mormon Church I had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the Bible. As I began to live the gospel more fully and learn, I felt the Spirit very strongly and realized that Christ's church had once again been organized on the earth with prophets, and apostles, and the authority to act in the name of Christ. I was baptized by a friend to whom I am most grateful. My knowledge led me to receive and accept a call to be a missionary in Chile where I got to share the "good news" with others. While some saw these two years of service as a sacrifice, it was an enormous blessing that shaped my life.

How I live my faith

I am a firm believer in a quote by Spencer W. Kimball that "No other success can compensate for failure in the home." I strive to teach my children that I love them by loving their mother, daily family scripture reading, having family dinner, taking them camping (their favorite), and teaching them right from wrong. I have no greater hope than that they will gain testimonies of the risen Lord Jesus Christ and be his followers. My church calling consists of tracking the progress of the youth within the Boy Scouts program. I also act as the secretary to the Young Men's president. I try to teach the young men their duty to their Heavenly Father through example and instruction. During the week they have activities that might include games such as ultimate Frisbee or more important things like performing service for someone in need.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We do believe that the Bible is the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly, and use it to teach correct principles about our Heavenly Father both at home and at church. We are grateful for the words of Jesus Christ and the power they can have for good in this world. Show more Show less
