Hi I'm Ranzel

I 'm from the Philippines. I'm a father and a husband... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I are presently living in Hong Kong. I am working as a Project Designer. My wife is working as a Sales Administrator. I have two good sons who are diligently living the gospel in their lives. I love my family. They are my joy and happiness in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was very young, that was 25 years ago. I found a strange little book hidden under the pillow of my sister and I ask her what it is. She told me that it is the Book of Mormon. I asked her if she can loan me the book for a week. She happily let me have it and told me that I can keep it as long as I want. As I read the book I could feel the spirit of the Lord and I could see things slowly unfolding before my very eyes. Many true and wonderful things were revealed to me. In the book I knew that I am truly a child of God, that I have a loving Father in Heaven who knows me personally and who cares and answers my prayers. I learned that God has a plan for me in this life and that if I remain faithful to all of His commandments I will live with him again someday. I learned that families can be together forever and that our relationship with our wife, our children, our parents, our brothers and sisters doesn't end in death but it continues even in the next life. I learned that Heavenly Father will reward us according to our good works. I learned that our body is a temple of God and that we have to respect and take good care it. I learned about the role of the Savior Jesus Christ in my life. He is my redeemer. He atoned me of my sins. I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me... to rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine. I love Him.

How I live my faith

Raising a family is a challenge most especially nowadays when we are living in a very complicated world. The fear of having our children influenced by their peers on things contrary to the teachings of the gospel could bring us sleepless nights. The challenge of living in a society where material things and riches are the essentials of everyday life could drag us away from our eternal goals. My family's strength comes from our living the gospel in our everyday lives. As parents, the teachings and testimonies we constantly share with our sons brings comfort into our hearts good enough to send them off to face and brave the challenge facing them in the outside world. We have our regular family home evenings and family prayers. We kneel down each night to thank Heavenly Father for giving us good health and strength. We thank Heavenly Father for extending our blessings to our families and friends. We pray for our prophet and leaders. We pray for their inspiration. We pray for protection and guidance. We pray for forgiveness of our sins. Our family chose to serve God, and we will continually do so until the very last days of our lives.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We know that the purpose of life is to serve God and to follow His commandments. We know that life on earth is a test on how much we can prove to God of our faith in Him. We know that after the trials of our faith Heavenly Father has prepared for us a reward of exaltation after this life. Show more Show less
