Hi I'm Eva

I started a charity for youth impacted by HIV/AIDS at 21. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife (married my high school sweetheart) and we have six young children. I enjoy spending time with family. I am currently a candidate for a Masters of Science in Leadership and Management. I have a million new ideas a day (most come and go), but staring a charity stuck. I LOVE summer camp and for more than a decade I have run a summer camp for youth impacted by HIV and AIDS. Seeing the joy summer camp brings to the lives of so many, I decided it was time to build a camp for various nonprofits who serve those with life challenges or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are still a few years out from the completion of the facility, but we are on a roll!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the one place where everything fits. I know God is not confusing and has a perfect plan. I just had to ask, with a sincere heart, where He wanted me to be. I grew up going to many different church's and exploring a lot of different religions - I am glad I had this opportunity. When I finally gave it over to God to show me the way, he lead me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). While I did not have all the answers and had a ton of questions, I could not doubt this is where God wanted me to be...so I followed Him in.

How I live my faith

I have two thoughts that I live by these days. The first, "Find a need & fill it." And second, "You do your best and God will fill in the rest." I live my faith by giving back as much as possible and knowing that everything will be okay. The Lord will not leave me. I know this and live my life with God as a partner. I volunteer inside and out the church as much as possible.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. Let me say, I am grateful for those young men and women who decide a mission is right for them! I would not be part of the church if it were not for a very special set of missionaries who changed my life! Show more Show less
