Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a stay at home mom mathematician. I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a daughter. I'm just your regular girl! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there! My name is Amanda and I'm 27 years old. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 7 years. We have two beautiful children. I have a Masters degree in Mathematics, but I quit my job in product management to raise my children. My hobbies include watching and playing sports. I played volleyball in both high school and college, but I love watching football! I also enjoy exercising, shopping, watching movies, playing games, and spending time with friends and family!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Mormon Church is the only true church on the face of the earth. I have been a member all my life and I've hear the phrase "I know the Church is true" about a thousand times, but I just recently realized what that means. It means that the Mormon church is the only church on the earth that teaches the full and restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the only church that has the power of God to perform the necessary ordinances to help us return to live with our Heavenly Father again. So when I say: "I know the Church is true" it means I stand as a witness that this church is the only church with the fulfilled gospel and Jesus Christ leads this church. I'm a Mormon because I want the blessings of the true church in my life and in the life of my family and friends.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by trying to do what Jesus Christ would do. Living my faith means being kind to others, being honest, attending church, working hard, being charitable, paying a full tithe, reading the scriptures and helping others. I am definitely not saying that I'm perfect at this! Far from it! But I do try to do these things because I know thats what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ would have me do. I also participate in my ward each Sunday by leading the music for the children in our congregation. It is the most fun job! I love to see the children's faces light up when they learn a new song and learn to love to sing! I can feel the Heavenly Father so close to me when I'm with the children! I also visit several women in our ward each month just to check up on them and see how they're doing and if they need anything. I also try to help out with whatever else I'm asked to do! Helping out and serving in our ward brings me such joy!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Amanda
I do believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today. I know that Heavenly Father loves us today just as much as he loved the people back in the days of Moses. The people back then needed a prophet to lead and instruct them. In our world today, revelation is needed just as badly. Because Heavenly Father loves us, he won't leave us alone to wonder in a "spiritual wilderness," so he sent us a prophet as well. President Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today, our modern day Moses, and he leads us. He communicates with Jesus Christ, just as Moses did. What a blessing that we have a prophet today to help us navigate our own personal wildernesses! Show more Show less
