Hi I'm Kristi

I a wife, an adoptive mom, a craft blogger and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happily married, new mom to an adorable little boy from which we were blessed through the miracle of adoption. I co-own an craft blog/shop with my identical twin sister and enjoy crafting, exercising, spending time with my family, watching 80's movies & cheesy chick flicks, enjoying the company of good friends and all things dark chocolate :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Latter-Day Saint but I believe each of us has to, at one point or another in our individual lives, discover for ourselves if the Gospel is true. I was 18 years old and found myself living 3,000 miles away from my hometown, parents, siblings, friends and everything I knew when I made this discovery. When I asked my Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was a true book, restored by Joseph Smith and contained His words, a peaceful feeling overcame me and was a reaffirmation that I had no doubt found my answer. The LDS Church offers comfort and warmth and it quickly became my home away from home. It was during this period of my life I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior, God as my Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost as my comforter. Since that experience, I have enjoyed the warmth the Gospel offers to my life as a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to help serve in the women's organization in my community (or ward) and participate in monthly meetings... some are social, some are service oriented and some are for spiritual enlightenment. I also love to receive monthly visits from other women that bring a spiritual message and help my home be filled with the Spirit of Jesus Christ. On a daily basis, I try to find opportunities to be of service to someone in need, even if just a simple phone call or note in the mail expressing love for them. I try to always be a good example to my son and instill the values I was raised with in him. I take time each day to pray, to study my scriptures and at least once a month my husband and I enjoy a "date night" to the Mesa, Arizona temple. I'm not a perfect wife or mom but I'm not afraid to stand up for what is right. I hope my son can see me make choices that will lead me back to my Father in Heaven. I try to live my religion 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, not just on Sundays.
