Hi I'm Scott

I'm a college student, a sports fanatic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student studying Landscape Architecture and Spanish. I love sports, particularly those that involve water, such as swimming and water polo. I love music, and having fun with friends. I definitely wish that there were more hours in the day to do more. I love horses, and wish that I could be out riding every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the wonderful opportunity to be born in a family of Mormons. However, that is not the only reason that I am a Mormon. I have had the opportunity of visiting many other churches, and speaking with friends of many other faiths. After all of that, I just couldn't find any that matched the feeling that I get in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All of the churches that I visited had their good parts, and have one thing in common, they all teach about Christ, and His role in our lives, and I am so glad to have friends who are of different faiths. I know that the Church that I belong to is the true church. I know this because I myself have asked my Father in Heaven many times in prayer whether or not the church is true. I have been answered. I just can't match the feelings that I get in the church. When I go to church, I feel like I am going home. I served a mission to Nicaragua, and when I talked to people who were about to join the church, they told me that they felt like I do when I go to church. They said that they felt like a part of them had been missing, but they found it in the church. I know that Jesus is the Christ, and that He is my Lord and Savior. I cannot thank Him enough for what He has done for me. I know that God lives, and that He loves us. I know that this is the true church, and I am so glad to be a part of it. I know that the family is the most important thing that our Father in Heaven has given us, and that it is under constant attack. I know that we have the marvelous blessing of having a prophet on earth today, and that if we follow his counsel, we can live better lives, and eventually return to live with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I am the leader of all of the men above age eighteen in my ward. I do my best to read from the scriptures everyday, and always have my phone on, waiting for the opportunity to serve the members of my ward. I live the gospel of Jesus Christ by obeying the commandments that He has given us. I also visit with the men of the ward to see what help they need. I also have frequent meetings with other leaders of our ward to see what we can do to help all of the people that live in the area around us.
