Hi I'm Cami

I am a woodworker, I am a college graduate, I play too much Farmville, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Minnesota. I love to dance. I am not the best dancer, but swing is my forte. I love to travel I have driven from Seattle to Boston. I have lived in a lot of different places, but I think sight seeing in my own town can be fun. I have seen the biggest ball of twine and the Jolly Green Giant. I grew up in MN, but went to school in South Carolina and Idaho. I did an internship in Massachusettsand lived in California. I am a college graduate and now work as a supervisor at a retail store.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active family in the church, but it doesn't mean i didn't have my own choices. There has been no big miracle in my life. No life changing events, but small moments that make everything seem clearer. Moments of overwhelming love, and moments of safety and of peace even when I lose my apartment and my car breaks down and one of my jobs down size all within a month. I am Mormon, because I know that Jesus Christ leads this church, that he has appointed prophets like those of old to be his voice on this earth today. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and guides me. I am Mormon, because like trying to describe salt to someone who has never tasted it, I can try and tell you everything about what I believe, but you have to taste it for yourself before you know.

How I live my faith

This is a difficult question, because it feels like every choice I make has to do my faith. When I choice to help a friend clean her house instead of watching another movie is just another example of how I try to live my Faith. Daily I pray for strength, and humlity. In my life I strive to bring that same feeling of calm and peace that I feel into work and daily tasks. I try to serve. I love doing volunteer work. If there is a free T-shirt sign me up, of course even if there isn't I will still come. The Lord has given me so many amazing things, that I just want to show his love to others every moment. I live my religion, becuase it is a religion of love and guidance, I just try every moment of my life to live as I what I would think my Heavenly Father would want me to.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

This is a very difficult question even sometimes for those of our faith. I believe that my Heavenly Father in his plan has revealed that women are not to have the priesthood at this time. It is really as simple as the Lord said so. This is hard for a lot of women to understand. Not having the preisthood, does not mean in anyway women are lesser than a man. I am proud to be a mormon woman. As women, we have an amazing role to play at home, in our community, in the country and in the world. We lead in many ways. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the longest running womens organization. Women lead in church positions; creating activities, organizing humanitarian aid projects, creating places of refuge and many other amazing things. The Lord gives direct revelation to his prophets that he has called for this time. The prophets have said that women are not to have the preisthood, so I don't have it. I accept this, the lord will have use for me in other ways. Show more Show less
