Hi I'm Warren

I'm a college student. I play the drums. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying applied mathematics. I love the earth and all its beauty. I've been in a rock band and love listening to 90's alternative and classic rock. I also used to play percussion in an orchestra. My family joined the church when I was 5.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. Accepting God and Jesus in my life has been difficult but it has been my greatest source of joy. I feel good inside as I attend the temple and visit church each week. I've spent much time and gone to great effort to try and understand who I am in relation to God. I'm still learning, but I've learned that I am God's child, that Jesus is my savior, and that God's authority to baptize in the name of Jesus was restored to this earth through Joseph Smith, who was God's prophet. The Book of Mormon is a great book and through it, I began my journey of trying to know Jesus. I can tell you from my own experience that I have felt the healing powers of Jesus in this church. It has made all the difference in the world to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to treat others with love. Often, I make mistakes, but showing love and kindness towards others is my goal. I've had many opportunities to be involved with running my local congregation such as being a missionary, teaching lessons each Sunday, visiting the elderly who need help, and planning social activities. Most importantly though, is trying to live my faith by loving others.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

This is an interesting question because I recently read a book written by an Evangelical Christian where he suggested that people love formulas and rules, and the LDS church has lots of rules and formulas for how we can be saved--therefore people want to be a part of that. I know many people see our church that way and I think it's sad. I think the reason the church has grown so much is because there is a change that takes place in people's hearts. Something is going on. I've felt it in my life and I know many others who've felt it in theirs. I think that others who try and see what this church is all about, who are really searching for happiness and closeness with God will find it here. That "something" that I said is "going on" is, I believe, the Holy Ghost. People feel this in their hearts and it makes them feel loved, good, and happy. People find Christ in this church and it is He who helps us to feel complete. Show more Show less
