Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Amy.

I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a Texan. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Texas, the oldest of three girls. (I know, I know. My poor father.) While in high school I enjoyed playing volleyball and trying to make good grades. I went to college and received a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also met and married my husband during that time. I taught first grade for two years. We have since been blessed with two darling boys, and I have the amazing privilege of staying at home to enjoy them. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it enriches my life and brings me closer to my Savior. I'm a better person, wife, and mother because of the teachings of Jesus Christ. While I grew up as a Latter-day Saint, I did study out and pray to receive my own testimony. I read the Book of Mormon, and I prayed about it. I knew that it was true. I have strived so far to live the teachings of the Gospel, and I continue to reap the benefits of this in my life.

How I live my faith

Our little family tries to have family prayer and family scripture study every day. We have a weekly Family Night, where we learn more about the scriptures and participate in fun activities (and have a treat at the end, of course!). In our congregation, I'm involved with teaching the Young Women in the ward--more specifically the 14-15 year old girls. I absolutely love it! I also am blessed to be assigned three other sisters in our congregation to check in on every month or so. This gives me a good excuse to make (and eat) cookies to drop off when we stop by their homes. Individually, I read the scriptures and I try to pray at least twice a day. I seek the Lord out to help me solve my small, daily problems, and my faith is strengthened as I see His hand help me in my life.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Amy.
I have the wonderful privilege of having a sister on a mission right now. I know that she chose to go on a mission because she loves the Lord and wants to help spread that love. Part of spreading the love includes finding those who are being prepared to be taught. And so she spends part of her day knocking on doors, trying to find those who are seeking the Gospel.
