Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a wife, a mother, a business owner, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have raised two wonderful children. One is married and the other just started college - that makes my husband and I "empty nesters". I love music, the arts, scrapbooking, and travel. My guilty pleasure is shopping. I also own a financial services firm. My goal is to provide meaningful services to all of our clients as well as a work enviornment where people can thrive and enjoy a great work-life balance. Our charter is to focus on the things that really matter.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Lord, Jesus Christ and the Church teaches doctrines and principles that bring me closer to Him. I've been a member of of the Mormon Church my entire life. When my parents married my mother was a Mormon and my father was a Lutheran. My brother and I were raised in the Mormon Church. When I was 10 years old, my father converted. I have a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that our Heavenly Father has provided a plan that allows for ALL of his children to return to Him. With the restoration of the gospel, came all of the necessary keys for that plan to be fulfilled. I have a testimony that we will live as a family for eternity through Heavenly Father's plan.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in our church by teaching seminary. Seminary is a religion class that our youth are encouraged to participate in when they are in high school. Where we live, this class takes place five days a week through the school year at 6:00 AM. Believe it or not I LOVE this calling. It would be even better if it weren't at 6:00 AM; but . . . I am currently teaching a group of seniors (ages 17-18). What a blessing to get up each day and talk to a group of youth about Christ, the Atonement, being good christians, making wise choices, etc. As we seem to be constantly inundated with news of poor and tragic choices that are being made by young people, I'm so blessed to rub shoulders on a daily basis with this group of youth who are diligent, thoughtful and Christ centered.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Kathy
There is nothing that I can say to you that will bring you to a knowledge of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, there is a way for you to know yourself. Each of us is born with the light of Christ. He is just waiting to bear witness to us. I would challenge you to get a copy of the Book of Mormon and read it thoughtfully and prayerfully. Before you start reading, Turn to Moroni 10:3-5. There is a promise there given by an ancient prophet. The promise is that if you read the book, ponder it, and ask God with real intent you will receive a witness of its truthfullness. I have done this. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. That it is another testament of Christ. That its teachings are complimentary to those of the Bible. Show more Show less
