Hi I'm Ashton Cook

I'm a Mormon. I am a missionary serving in Rochester New York

About Me

My name is Elder Cook and I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being a missionary and being able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all those that I come in contact with. Prior to coming to New York as a missionary, I lived in Washington on Bainbridge Island. I am a big fan of playing sports, especially basketball. One of my favorite months of the year is March due to March Madness. I started getting into mountain climbing and hiking right before my mission and I love spending time in God's creations. The mountains, the ocean, the trees, the baby blue sky, all of these things make me happy.  Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon, because I have found that when I live the teachings of Jesus Christ, that is when I am truly happy. The world teaches us that wealth, power, or prestige is what fulfills us, or makes us happy, but I have found that the only way that I am happy is when I humble myself and I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My family is very important to me and I could not bare the thought of not being with them forever, but we know through modern revelation, that families can be together forever. It's not only "till death do you part", but for eternity. What greater blessing could you have? I have come to know that this is true, because I have asked God if it is. He has told me, through the feelings in my heart, that this really is his restored Gospel on the earth once again.

How I live my faith

Everyday I have the opportunity to share the Gospel with all those that I come in contact with. I have set two years of my life aside and have been called by a prophet of God to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being able to teach others what they can do to come closer to Christ.
