Hi I'm Mark

I grew up and live in Pleasant Grove, Utah. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work in information systems and have done in some form or another my whole career. I like to work with wood and have built log homes as well as standard homes. I also enjoy making furniture. When ever I can I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, fishing and hunting. I really enjoy doing many of those and other activities with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because I found out at a young age that God loves me and his son Jesus Christ died for me. I made a decision at that point that I wanted to follow him my entire life. Because of that decision it has made my life a lot easier. When choices come between right and wrong there are easy to make because of the decision I made so long ago. Over the years I have come closer to our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Through diligent study of the scriptures I have truly come know that they love each of us. I also know that they speak to a living prophet today who guides us in these difficult times. What a blessing it is to have this in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always be willing to server the Lord and my family. Whenever I have been faced with decisions that have made me choose between my service in the church and time with my family I have always chosen to put them first. One of my favorite opportunities to serve in the church is to visit with families in our congregation. Over the years I have come to love those families by serving them and helping them with their needs. I have also had many opportunities to serve the youth. I have been on 5 Pioneer Treks with the youth pulling hand carts. They have been fun and exciting and have not only helped the youth grow closer to God but also have helped me draw nearer to him.

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which was organized in 1830. As of 2010 the Church had a worldwide membership of approximately 14 million people. The Church headquarters in Salt Lake City Utah. Mormons believe the Bible and Jesus’ teachings in revelations to modern-day Apostles and Prophets. Mormons believe that their church is the same as the original church Jesus established when He was on the earth (see Ephesians 2:19-20, 4:11-14). The name ‘Mormon’ is a nickname because of the Church’s belief in the Book of Mormon (ancient scripture revealed to and recorded by prophets in the Americas during the same time the Bible was being written in the Old World.)
