Hi I'm Jed

I grew up in Evanston Wyoming, I love to travel and I'm a mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am currently serving a mission in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia mission. Before my mission, I enjoyed playing basketball, golf, and lots of running. I also enjoy the outdoors. Me, my dad and brother have spent much time backpacking in the beautiful mountains of Wyoming. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. Some of my fondest memories with my family are on vacations to different places around the country. Overall, I would consider myself a pretty easy going person.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a mormon my entire life. My parents always taught me the importance of living a Christ-like life and being a peace maker. It wasn't until I was about 15 or so that a dramatic change began to take place in my life. I decided to read the Book of Mormon for myself and discover whether or not it was true. After much pondering and prayer, I came to know for myself, independent of anyone else that it was true. This is the beginning of my conversion. The reason that I choose to continue to live the way I do, is because I know that it is the way my Father in Heaven would have me live. I have also seen a direct correlation between keeping God's commandments and being happy. It is impossible to be happy when living in sin. Overall, I am a Mormon because I know that this is where God wants me in life, and there is no greater joy in life than to know that we are pleasing God.

How I live my faith

Currently, the way I live my faith, is by serving as a missionary for the church. I have been serving as a missionary for nearly two years now, and will soon return home. Each day, I have the opportunity of going from place to place, teaching the Gospel and helping others come to find happiness for themselves. I have tried to create consistent habits of scripture study and prayer each day, so that the Lord can use me as an instrument in his hands to teach and help others.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The word of wisdom is a law of health that was given to us by God, through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Just as in old testament times, we have a health code for our day and age. The word of wisdom includes the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. It also teaches that we should refrain from certain substances such as: tobacco, alcohol, drugs, coffee, tea, and anything else that could potentially harm our bodies. The greatest blessing that comes from living the "word of wisdom" is being more in tune with God's spirit and being able to receive personal revelation from Him on a daily basis. Show more Show less
