Hi I'm Randall

Originally from the United States, I now live in the UK and work as a Pharmacist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work as a pharmacist for the health and beauty retailer Boots. I love to listen to music and play/sing it as well. I'm a very service oriented person and find that most of my free time is either used up in studying for my training or serving others. I come from a family of 7 kids and love to have people around me, but I also have those times when I enjoy my personal quiet moments. I served a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and went to Tennessee/Kentucky where I shared the gospel in Spanish, which was difficult but a profound blessing in my life. Not only did my mission give me a greater testimony of the gospel but a greater love and understanding for different cultures and history and our role has human beings in creating them. I'm originally from the United States, but now live in the United Kingdom and love everything about this country!

Why I am a Mormon

I had been baptised into the church when I was young but didn't really become fully active until I was 18. While in my final year of high school I had two classes that had timing clashes. As a result I had to drop one class and fill it with something else. While sitting in the counsellor's office I couldn't think of anything, but then I had the thought of seminary (religious education courses done by the LDS church for youth). I said "seminary" not knowing what I was saying and felt like I should go back an change it again as I had no interest in religion of any sort really, but in the end and with some parental advice I decided to go and treat it as any other class. As I was encouraged to study the scriptures and learn the doctrines, I began to feel a desire to know for myself if what was being taught were really true. So I did just that. I read and prayed daily to know if what I was reading was the truth. I felt a calm assurance and peace and soon realised that this was the Holy Spirit speaking to my soul. A few months later I began to attend church again and 11 months afterward was serving a mission and sharing how the Saviour had changed my life. I'm a Mormon because its true and the teachings bring me peace. I know that they are true for myself and I've seen this gospel change peoples lives as well as my own. Having that knowledge of God's Plan for me and what my purpose in life is helps me to see the world with hope and faith, even in the most trying of circumstances

How I live my faith

I do what the average Mormon does; go to church, do service, pray and study. One of my favourite types of service at the moment is a youth camp known as Especially For Youth (EFY). I love being able to work with young people helping them to realise their potential, helping them to see there are great people in a world full of negativity. I love seeing their testimonies grow as they make choices to remain chaste and to be clean both inside and out. I also serve as the Ward Mission Leader in my local ward(church) where I'm in charge of encouraging missionary work. I feel blessed to have been able to serve in this capacity and its amazing to help people come unto Christ and watch them change their lives around. I get to work with some of the most amazing people and get to meet a great plethora of different cultures from the people we visit.
