Hi I'm Arlene

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born a member of the Mormon Church into a good home with parents that loved me. I had a great growing up -- lots of cousins, friends and fun! I was married when I was barely 19, to a rancher. I was a "city girl" and ranching was a new way of life for me, but I loved it! We raised 8 children on our ranch - 4 boys and 4 girls. Our children all helped on the ranch and learned to work, but we also played together. I have been a substitute teacher, a high school athletic secretary, a business manager for a video company, we owned a print shop for a time, where I was the proof reader and did the graphic layouts. I love music and sports and played volleyball, softball and basketball in my younger days. My wonderful husband of 50 years and I still enjoy watching high school athletics together in the small town where we live. I have had lots of health challenges in my life with 4 major operations. My activity is sometimes limited but I am learning to concentrate on what I CAN do and not what I can't do. We have 36 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Three of our sons live in our small community and help on the ranch. Four of our children live close by, in Arizona, and one daughter, her husband and 4 children live in Oregon. I love life and love serving others and meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Mormon Church, but had to gain my own testimony by asking God if the things I heard and read were true. By the power of the Holy Ghost I received a witness of the truthfulness of the these things and have continued to grow in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I teach young children every Sunday and love working with these youth who are still establishing their value system. I have served as a visiting teaching for 50 years and love visiting with and serving the women I visit. I have worked with teenagers in many compacities. I have worked in the community, planning and carrying out cultural events. My husband and I served for 18 months at our own expense, in Omaha Nebraska as full time missionaries telling people there about the Church and the blessings they could receive by participating in the Church there. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
