Hi I'm Megan!

I love crafts, archery, and biomedical research. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Northern California, and have most of my life. I love it! I graduated from college in 2006 with a Bachelor's in Biology. I loved the school and my program. I love reading, especially the Book of Mormon! I enjoy painting, drawing and crafts, especially Scrapbooking. : I also enjoy the outdoors and love archery. Weird, but so cool to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because this is how I know that I can be happy. By following the teachings taught by the Church and through the Book of Mormon, I am happy, consistently have peace in my life, and am able to be with my family forever. There are those close to me who have chosen not live this life and I see how vastly different they are without Christ's Church in their life. They don't have the peace & happiness that I have every day. I am truly grateful for the knowledge of this life and the life before and after I have gained by living the Gospel principles.

How I live my faith

I recently was working in the woman's organization in the Church. It was an amazing opportunity to learn to love and serve women that are vastly different than me. It allowed me to develop Christ-like love and charity for the women I served. As we had activities to bless those around us, we became closer to Christ and each other. I have gained a stronger testimony of service and charity. In fact one of my favorite activities we've done is that as women of 14 congregations got together and did service projects, including making quilts, hygiene kits, schoolbag kits, etc. It was amazing to see so many women give up their entire Saturday to spend time serving others and spending time with one another. It was a great testimony builder to me of the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, has for each of his children.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Nope! I think this is one of the best things about the Church! We love helping anyone and everyone! In fact, my co-workers, who aren't members, have frequently commented on how giving the Church is to anyone who is need. Whenever there is a disaster of any kind, the Church is one of the first groups to respond--no matter the situation, and who it affects. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

It is so awesome! I have so much peace in my life because I know that I am doing the best I can to live God's laws. Some people may feel that it is very restrictive, but I think it is liberating! I don't have to worry about being addicted to substances or something else determining my needs. I have clarity of mind and peace in my heart. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me so much Joy and Happiness. My congregation is a Young Single Adult Ward meaning unmarried adults between ages 18-30 and we have so much fun! There are so many activities--usually 3-4 per week. And when there isn't something put on by the Church--we make things up! I have made wonderful friends and they are great examples to me.
